Creative thinking

AMFI prepares us to be able to adaptable, creative and inventive in how we solve problems. The future oriented assignments tie well into the different roles in the industry and make sure we learn hybrid skills that make us work efficiently. Real life problems in the industry are brought under attention and we create a solution for this. In this way it is easier to adapt to the ever changing fashion industry which is in need of creative thinking in terms of the problems that it’s facing.

Dyson Responsible collection creation

In semester 3 we got the assignment as a group to hypothetically create a responsible collection for a non fashion brand. In this assignment we had to take into account the target consumer and see how we can expand it with apparel. We were responsible of the ideation, the product development , range planning including calculations and anticipating on the life cycle of the garment and assessing this cycle to further improve the sustainability of the garments.

#TheWorld

In semester 1 we got the assignment to think of a solution for the pollution that the fashion industry creates to this day. Our problem was to tackle the pollution that is a result from cotton production. As a solution hemp could be used to create garments from where a consultancy service assists brands to switch their raw material usage from cotton to hemp. We had to think of the investments that need to be made in order to set this up, the time frame in which it can be implemented, how the whole process would work also logistically and how we would be helping brands to make the transition to hemp.
